Expeditions planned to the Wakhan Corridor 2010

If you have an expedition planned, get in touch and let us know
the details. It is useful for us to try and minimise the number of
expeditions that may end up attempting the same objective at the
same time.
"Parapomisus' is an old word for the Hindu Kush, and means 'higher
than an eagle soars'. The legend has it that the range was so high that to
cross it even an eagle had to walk
" 1972 Nottingham University Expedition.
Eleven members from Poland including two women, will make an attempt on Kara Jilga I (6094m) and
Kalandar Zom (5909m) located in the little Pamir during July and August this year 2010.

This will be the first official alpine expedition supported by the Polish Mountaineering Association since
1977. This expedition will mark the 50th anniversary of Polish climbing activity in Afghanistan (started in
1960 with second ascent of Noshaq [7492m] by expedition led by Boleslaw Chwascinski)
