Books Peaks of Silver and Jade is a mountaineering guide book of the Afghan Hindu Kush, written by Carlo Alberto Pinelli and Gianni Predan. The book shows a number of routes taken fom Broughil pass to Sad Ishtragh Pass, available through us. See the mountaineering page. The Afghanistan Lonely Planet Country Guide was published in 2007 and gives an intresting overview of the country. This can be bought in most book stores, or purchase online at amazon Stephen Venables travelled to Afghanistan with Lindsay Griffin in 1977, it was their first expedition out of Europe. Higher Than an Eagle Soars is Stephen's climbing autobiography, included is a chapter on their visit to Badakhshan where they made five assents, four of them being new routes.
