Ishkashim is a pleasant bazaar town, this is the last opportunity you will have to buy supplies for your journey up into the Wakhan Corridor. In the Wakhan food is scarce so you must be entirely self sufficient. |

It is extremely clean throughout this building and the bathroom facilities are immaculate. There is one western style toilet with bucket flush & hot water is available from the stove. Electricity is provided via a generator & there are sockets for charging portable devices. Room rates: $25 per person, including breakfast & dinner. Ishkashim Bazaar is located 3km away by road which follows a lovely river. Wafai's Guest House (N36d 43m 0.07s, E071d 36m 02.9s) Accommodation comprises of two twin bedrooms with beds, wardrobes and a desk. One large Pamir room is fitted with colourful carpets with an adjoining bathroom with western toilet, hot water can be sourced from the wood stove. Solar lights and 12 volt battery is available for direct hook up. Room rates: $25 per person, including breakfast which consists of eggs, bread, milk, tea & coffee. A delicious Afghan evening meal will be presented, meat, rice & potatoes. Ishkashim bazaar is located 5 km away by road. |
